Located in a lush valley in Johannesburg South, the Glenvista Country Club is a popular destination for golfers. Glenvista Country Club is an interesting and one-of-a-kind golfing destination due to its varied geological features, which range from cliff walls to floodplains.
The valley and the surrounding area were owned by the Basson family until the middle of the twentieth century. As farmers, the Bassons put the land to good use. Along the present fairway of the 18th hole is where they laid to rest. The Bassons sold the property to a major township developer in the 1960s and 1970s, the Glen Anil Development Corporation.
