Starship Troopers: Extermination is a fast-paced, 16-player PvE sci-fi shooter that shows no mercy to soldiers who failed boot camp. Arachnids don’t care what they do, and there are thousands of them. You must do your part in the war against the Arachnids if you want to finish a task on Valaka and become a citizen.
Under the sands of Valaka are thousands of Bugs with razor-sharp claws that are ready to attack inexperienced soldiers who get too far from the pack. Teamwork is important for you and your fellow troops, so it’s important to know a few tips and tricks for fighting the Arachnids.
Place Ammo Fabricators Down For Bastion Troopers
Because the Morita Mk. 3 SAW light machine gun can knock back Bugs and does a lot of damage, Bastion Troopers can be very good at protecting troopers and targets from swarms of Bugs.
But as a Bastion heavy trooper, there’s nothing worse than using Seige Mode to defend a target, only to run out of ammo two magazines later. So, if you’re playing Operator or Hunter, put an Ammo Fabricator in their shield.
Don’t Ignore Field Objectives
Field Objectives are optional goals that happen in the second part of a task. When you finish a Field Objective, you’ll get two strong Pilum Rocket Launchers that can be reloaded.
Pilum Rocket Launchers can kill every kind of Bug in the game with just one shot, even the big Plasma Grenadier and Tiger Elite. During the ARC defense goal and the Extraction, they are very helpful.
Field objectives are marked on the map with a green exclamation point and require you to fix several generators, then turn on and guard a beacon.
Kill Plasma Grenadiers ASAP
Plasma Grenadiers are a very dangerous type of soldier. They stand back and shoot mortar at structures like Ore and Gas Refineries, the ARC Base, and anything in between. Even when they are in Siege Mode, they will go after Bastions.
As the amount of infestation goes up, there are more Bugs and Grenadiers. Facing a few Grenadiers is a death sentence, because two blasts from their mortar will destroy walls and factories.
Grenadiers are weak up close because they can’t fight in any other way. You don’t have to worry about close attacks if you shoot them in the head. When you kill a Grenadier, you get 100 XP. This makes it the most valuable Bug to kill in Wordle Unlimited.
Always Build The Refinery Furthest Away At The Beginning Of A Match
Going after the Ore or Gas Refinery that is farthest away. This is because it will get harder and harder to get Gas or Ore Canisters as the match goes on and the Arachnid Infestation Level goes up. So, you need to get as many canisters as you can from the refinery that is the farthest away before the danger level gets too high. Each Ore Canister has 2,000 Ore inside, which can be used to build things inside the base.
You can build a turret in your base with just two barrels.
When you take four bottles from a refinery, the refinery shuts down for four minutes, so you’ll want to use the closest one when the threat level is high.
Build Bunkers To Defend Your ARC
Once you’ve put all the Gas Canisters down, you’ll have two minutes to build up your base’s defenses if you need to. Put four Bunkers around the ARC.
The health of bunkers is good, and they protect soldiers while they fire through windows. Bunkers have windows on all sides, so you’ll be able to see the ARC from every point, and Bugs won’t be able to get to you.
Prioritize Tiger Elite Bugs
Tiger Elite Bugs should come before any other kind of Bug. Tiger Elites are huge Warrior Bugs that can quickly get close to you. With one swipe of their long claws, they can kill a whole group of soldiers. This can be very bad if you are taking gas canisters back to your base.
Tiger Elites are so big that even defense walls can’t protect troopers from their talons, which can grab troopers on the walls. Tiger Elites should be the top priority for troops with Grenade Launchers and Rocket Launchers.
At the end of the match, you’ll get 50 XP for every Tiger Elite Bug you kill. This makes these scary Bugs a great way to get XP.
Don’t Leave The Drop Ship During Extraction
Extraction is the part of Starship Troopers: Extermination that is the most crazy and fun. When Pyre says that the ARC has successfully extracted the data, it’s time to run like crazy to the extraction spot.
You have to wait ten seconds before you can see where the extraction spot is. Use this time to get more ammunition and other useful things for the run to the Drop Ship.
If you’re lucky enough to make it to the drop-ship, cover your fellow soldiers, but don’t hang around after everyone has been counted. As soon as everyone is in the Drop Ship, the team will be rescued. By killing more bugs, you only risk lives and the extra XP you get for each rescued member.
If a trooper falls out of the Drop Ship, use the Medical UAV to bring them back to life instead of leaving the Drop Ship.
Don’t Rush To Collect Gas Canisters
New recruits often make the mistake of getting all of the Gas Canisters back to the ARC camp. You’ll be able to finish this goal when your team has collected enough Ore to build up the base.
When the Gas-gathering goals are done, a scan is started that sends an endless number of Bugs to attack the base. So, if you need at least 40,000 ore to build base defenses like Turrets, the Bugs will probably reach the ARC and destroy it before you get that much ore.
Don’t Ignore High-Priority Threat Missions
In the middle of a task, it can be easy to forget about other goals. But if you finish these tasks, the Arachnid Infestation Level will go down.
Threat with a High Priority To finish a mission, you have to kill forty Arachnids in a certain place. To finish these tasks, you might have to go a long way. You only need two Bastion troops to finish them. But you should go after these goals with at least one squad, since you’ll be fighting big groups of Bugs.
On the map, these missions are marked with a red marking and a Warrior Bug icon. More than one of these missions can be going on at the same time. If the tasks aren’t done quickly enough, the Arachnid Infestation Level will go up.
Update Your Loadout After Every Launch
Starship Troopers: Extermination is in Early Access, and Offworld Industries hopes to fully release the game next year, depending on how long it takes to reach development goals. Because of this, the game has some annoying bugs, like one that doesn’t save your loadout every time you restart the game.
Every time you start the game, make sure to change your loadout. When you start a Veteran task and find out that your Bastion is running a Morita Mk. 1, it can be frustrating.
Set Up Thermo Charges Around Base Walls
During an ARC or AAS mission, you will have to deal with a wild event in which an endless number of Bugs attack the base of your team. As an extra defense, you can put Thermo Charges outside the walls of your base to stop this.
Thermo Charges are great for protecting buildings because you can set them off by looking at the one you want to use and pulling the trigger. This keeps you from setting off all of the Thermo Charges at the same time.
Deploy Proximity Bug Mines During Seige Mode
The Proximity Bug Mine is a great tool that explodes when it comes into touch with a Bug. You can make your Seige Mode shields stronger by putting these mines around your shield. You can carry three at a time.
While in Seige Mode, you can put Proximity Bug Mines on the ground. For this approach, you should only place one mine at a time, since you’ll want to get the most out of each one.
Prioritize Big Bugs With The Morita Hawkeye
The Morita Hawkeye does more damage than other Morita weapons of the same type. So, you should try to kill Gunners, Tiger Elites, and Plasma Grenadiers before going on to Drones and Warriors.
The Hawkeye has a magazine that holds sixteen rounds and a backup that holds ninety-six rounds. This gives you more than enough shots to kill more than one Bug with a single magazine. We suggest that you use the Emancipator sidearm along with the Hawkeye because it packs a punch and can kill Warriors in just a few shots.
Resupply At Ammo Stations
Ammo Fabricators are great tools to have on the battlefield, and it’s no surprise that you run out of ammo very quickly in Starship Troopers: Extermination. But using an Ammo Fabricator to restock does not restock utilities.
So, you’ll have to go back to a base’s Ammo Station to get more tools like Proximity Bug Mines and Thermo Charges. In AAS tasks, it can be disastrous for a team to move on to the next Territory without restocking their utility.
Kill Gunners Before Reviving Troopers
Gunners are long-range Bugs that are very accurate and do a lot of damage, especially on the Veteran challenge level. A Gunner will often kill troops who try to bring back to life a trooper they just killed.
Most of the time, you’ll see two or three downed soldiers all at once. If there is a Gunner nearby, kill it before bringing your other troops back to life, unless you want to join them.
Even though Gunners can launch attacks from far away, the laser-like tracers that follow their strikes make it easy to find them.
