Things you should do before entering 2023

2022 is about to end, and 2023 is around the corner, waiting for its turn. What are your plans for the new year? 

You indeed have planned for weekend fun, but what about your goals? Have you recalled things you achieved or not this year? What are your plans for 2023? What do you want to achieve in the upcoming year? 

This year don’t make only resolutions; instead, work for them. Only making planning will not work; you have to take calculated risks. 

People who want to work on their personal growth and self-improvement must prepare in advance. I know doing all these tasks requires hard work and attention to detail. 

So, here is the list of things you should do before entering 2023.

Take a break from work

You have worked hard all year; now it’s time to sit back and reflect on the year. You can take a one or two-day break just to sit relax and spend some quality me-time. 

I knew, with Christmas, the 31st, and the new year, so many celebrations are waiting for you. You must be busy preparing for all these celebrations. 

The way you make time for fun, you must spend some alone time with yourself to understand what’s going on in your mind. Have you achieved the thing that you wanted to accomplish this year? If you didn’t, what’s the reason behind it, etc. 

When you are on a break, start your day slowly, watch your surroundings, embrace nature, and spend some cozy time. After all, you are not a robot. 

Organize everything before the new year

Some people mostly focus on physical clutter but forget it is interrelated with mental clutter. 

If you really want to enter the new year with fresh thoughts and energy, declutter everything that you no longer need. It could be physical clutter or mental clutter. 

Start with your closet. Keep the clothes you use or that are needed; rest give to the needy. By doing this, you’ll feel too good that you couldn’t imagine. 

Similarly, there are other things that you can organize, like your desk, room, purse, emails, bills, etc. 

Review present year

Before entering the new year, it’s time to look at the present year. Take a diary, start from the first month of the year. Write the things you did and achieved, your progress, your investment, savings, whatever you did; just put it down. 

Of course, it will take time. But in the end, it will provide clarity to you. This way, you can plan better for the new year. 

Plan, plan, and plan

When you plan a trip, you create a list of items that you are required to bring on the trip. Similar goes with your life; how could you overlook this factor? 

Create a list of areas that you want to focus on, like health and well-being, relationships, communication, finances, etc. You can include as many things as you want in the list. Now you listed the things, it’s time to create plans and act accordingly. 

When you are making a plan, make sure you include every single detail in it. You can also divide a year into four quarters to get things done. 

Get all your incomplete work done

I know there are some regular tasks that you have to perform on a weekly or monthly basis. But here I’m talking about those small tasks that you have been neglecting for a few months. It’s time to get it done before entering into a new year. 

Don’t take those due tasks with yourself in the new year. Delaying tasks is the habit of procrastination; don’t take this habit with you in the new year.

Investment plans

This might be your number one goal in the new year. If you haven’t made any investments yet, I’d like to give you some unasked advice. 

Never ever invest everything in one plan. Always keep your options open. At least invest in 4 to 5 options. If you lose money in one plan, you have other options open.

Try to clear out all your debts 

Everyone has some debts due to financial uncetainities and that’s completely okay. The thing is not okay here, not clearing debts. 

Don’t get me wrong here! There is a possibility that you do not have enough money to clear your debts. However, some people even after having money to clear debts, they keep on ignoring by saying I’ll do it later, which eventually increases the tenure period. 

Doing such thing you are only increasing your debts. So, try to clear as much debts as possible before the new year. Anyhow, if some debts remain, try to clear them in the next year. 

Plan for those remaining debts. When and how you are planning to pay them. As a result, you’ll stop living paycheck to paycheck. Read books to improve your spending habits and how to survive on a low budget. 

Make a list of things you want in the new year

You might have heard about the law of attraction. But to apply this, you must know what things you want to attract in your life. If you are unsure about your wants, how could you achieve them? 

So, first, make a list of things you want and then start working on attracting and achieving them in your life. 

  • Buy a car
  • Buy a house
  • Read the number of books
  • Travel to several places
  • Start a blog

Forgiveness

Do not hold grudges. Forgive the people who hurt you intentionally or unintentionally. If you are not happy with yourself or you made any mistake, forgive yourself also. 

Resentment and grudges come into the path of self-improvement; it is better to let go of those people and feelings. You can’t change them, so for the sake of your well being just forgive them. 

Bottom line

This is my list that I needed to fulfill before entering 2023. Your might differ from mine, and that’s completely okay. Having a list is important and willingness to complete it. 

Try to get rid of everything that makes your life unstable. Slow down for sometime and focus on your inner self. Sometimes we are too busy improving our outer selves and tend to forget about what’s going on inside us.
