In a market dominated by SUVs, Honda‘s commitment to regular cars is both refreshing and commendable. Following the successful introduction of the City Saloon, Honda has unveiled its five-door counterpart, the Honda City Hatchback car, which replaces the Jazz / Fit supermini in some markets. While it retains the saloon’s styling, the City Hatchback has been adapted to a smaller footprint, measuring 208 millimeters (8.2 inches) shorter.
Despite its compact size, the new Honda City Hatchback is larger than the Jazz, yet it manages to avoid encroaching on the territory of the Civic Hatchback. With a length of 4345 mm (171.1 inches) and a wheelbase carried over from the saloon, the five-door model offers increased legroom and innovative Ultra Seats with Utility, Long, Tall, and Refresh modes, providing extra convenience to passengers.
Honda City Hatchback offers a turbocharged 1.0-liter petrol engine. This three-cylinder powerhouse delivers 120 bhp and 173 Newton-meters (128 pound-feet) of torque, channeled to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission. The sporty-looking RS trim, showcased in striking red, offers a visual appeal without any additional performance enhancements. However, the City Hatchback RS range topper boasts a host of practical features, including paddle shifters, six airbags, cruise control, rear charging ports, and a comfortable armrest for rear passengers. Honda also equips it with an eight-speaker sound system, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and red illumination for the digital screen in the instrument cluster.
With its stylish design, ample features, and efficient performance, the Honda City Hatchback is set to make its mark in the automotive market, catering to those seeking a compact and practical solution without compromising on comfort and convenience.
