Meduza revealed it has been ‘inspirational’ working alongside Kim Petras and OneRepublic, after being announced as UEFA EURO 2024’s official music artists.
The tournament’s official music artists will unveil the anticipated track in spring 2024.
The Italian News Today production trio, who were nominated for a Grammy award in 2019, exclusively told MailOnline that the artists have already come together to work on music in a Los Angeles studio.
Meduza, made up of Mattia Vitale, Simone Giani and Luca De Gregorio, explained: ‘It’s so inspirational and working with legends like them is always great. You can learn a lot of things in the writing process.
‘They’re coming from pop music and the way they write toplines and work arrangements are completely different than what we do in house music. So, working together and creating that balance between the worlds, I repeat is inspirational.’

They added: ‘We’ve been in the studio together in LA with their crew working on music, toplines and all this classic stuff. It has been great, they’re so humble and nice, a great team to work with.’
Speaking on the announcement, they said: ‘As football fans, we feel so proud and happy. It’s a goal in life for us, to combine our two biggest passions in life.
‘It’s something that happens once in a lifetime and that’s why we feel blessed and honoured to be part of this project.’
The song, along with other musical elements such as the walkout sound and TV sequences, will capture the shared spirit of football and music, reflecting the unity, passion, and diversity at the heart of EURO 2024.
German pop sensation Kim Petras, who reached incredible new heights with her global chart-topping Grammy-winning collaboration with Sam Smith in 2023, said: ‘In my home country of Germany, football has always been a big deal.
‘I have so many fond memories watching the matches together with my friends and family. Nothing could be a bigger honour for me and I’m so excited to join Meduza and OneRepublic in creating the official song for 2024!’
OneRepublic’s lead singer Ryan Tedder, winner of 3 Grammy awards, said: ‘Growing up, American football and football were the sports I played the most from age five.
‘Performing at the closing ceremony of EURO 2024 in Berlin is an incredible opportunity and honour for any artist, but is truly exciting for me personally. The energy that comes with this sport is like nothing else in the world. We absolutely cannot wait.’

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA’s Marketing Director, noted: ‘Combining people’s most popular passion points that are music and football is ideal for creating an immersive UEFA EURO 2024 experience. Meduza, OneRepublic, and Kim Petras, with their varied and exceptional talent, embody our vision of uniting through football.’
UEFA EURO 2024 is set to be a landmark event, celebrating not only Europe’s football ability but also its cultural diversity and unity.
In a climactic finale, the closing ceremony will feature a live performance of the official song by the three artists.
UEFA EURO 2024 will take place from 14 June to 14 July 2024 across ten host cities in Germany: Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
Meduza are best known for their 2019 breakthrough song Piece of Your Heart featuring Goodboys, which was a 2019 Grammy nomination in the best dance recording category.
Speaking about exploding on to the scene, they told MailOnline: ‘It was completely unexpected to be honest, we were in the studio just doing what we love and not thinking about the consequences, then everything happened quickly.
‘So, that year we didn’t realise what was happening to our life, we just lived and enjoyed every moment, we were living our dream.’
Commenting on the pressure musicians face, they added: ‘There’s always pressure, after every release people expect something bigger and stronger from us, and I can understand that. It’s part of the process and it’s a challenge for us to improve every time.’

Collectively known as Our House, the DJs are pointing to the lack of in-the-moment enjoyment at today’s concerts, where crowds often prioritise capturing content over connecting and dancing with one another.
They explained: ‘Last summer during the Ibiza season, I watched a few other artists perform and I was noticing there were a lot of people standing for the entire show with their phone just filming the drop or the visuals and not paying attention to the music or the vibe of the room which is really sad.
‘We’re DJs and our job is to make people dance and have fun/ But this way we cannot create any feeling with the crowd and it’s like playing a Spotify playlist to some random people. That’s why we decided to bring back the old vibe in our house when phones were not a thing in the club.’
