What is a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Course?
The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a five-year program in India, including four years of study and one year of internship. Regulated by the Dental Council of India, this course covers subjects like Dental Histology, Oral Pathology, and Oral Surgery. BDS graduates can work in hospitals, open clinics, or join dental offices, providing essential dental care and services.
Why should you take BDS?
A BDS degree is essential for practicing dentistry in India, where the demand for dental care is rising due to better oral hygiene awareness. This degree offers good job prospects and government support for better employment opportunities. During their internship, students can earn between INR 15,000 and 40,000. Additionally, after passing the required exams, BDS graduates can pursue higher-paying jobs abroad, such as in the US or Canada.
