1. Eskimo ā Outbreak Portable Ice Fishing Shelter

Highlight: This transformed ice shanty as a winter tent exceeded expectations with its ingenious window covers, adaptable interior, and makeshift flooring, despite seam vulnerability to raināan indulgent, spectacular weekend retreat.
Helpful review: āJust spent a weekend winter camping in this tent. I understand this is an ice shanty/shelter but thought it would be great as a winter tent as well. I was right! Now, it is blacked out on the inside of the tent but there are 6 windows with velcro covers you can take off leaving plastic see-through windows! They let in plenty of daytime light so you donāt need lights on during the day.
The one thing you need to know is there is no floor (because itās made for ice fishing) so what I did is used foam yoga mats for rugs which worked great! You can also use childrenās foam floor tiles to create a floor. However, be aware your flooring might freeze to the ground if you donāt have ample heat to keep them from feezing.
The one downfall with this tent is thereās no seam-sealing (Iām not sure any ice shanty has such a thing) and thereās TONS AND TONS of seams you can see ALL of the light through. So if you do encounter rain, itās going to come in. You can brush off snow but rain will be a problem. My fix for this is to hang a tarp over it if youāre expecting rain. LOVED my weekend in this tent! I spoiled myself: I had a TV with antenna, a heater and put a roast together in a crockpot for my main meal Saturday. It was spectacular!ā ā Sheila Panowicz

2. Eskimo ā Eskape 2400 Insulated Ice Fishing Shelter

Highlight: This shelter is a game-changer, fitting perfectly in a Subaru Outback, offering spaciousness, comfort, and convenience for daily ice fishing trips, proving that a truck isnāt a prerequisite for a top-notch shanty.
Helpful review: āIāve always wanted a flip over but havenāt been able to buy one because I donāt own a truck. But this shelter fits in my Subaru Outback! It has a way bigger fishing area than my buddies flip over and is way more comfortable. AIt is a bit heavy and getting it in the car by yourself is a struggle but when you ice fish every single day having a comfortable shanty is definitely a must have.

It fishes 2 people very comfortable. I also have room for my portable grill on the inside plus 3 holes to fish out of. Iām 6 foot tall and can stand strait up inside without bending over also. The side doors are very nice because youāre not walking over the other persons rods and other stuff to get out. Furthermore the sled has a lot of room for everything you need. This is definitely a great product and if you have a SUV or a station wagon and are concerned. It wonāt fit this product probably will.ā ā Adam Corl

Helpful review: āI bought these for peace of mind when my husband goes ice fishing. They are fairly simple and he hasnāt used them in a real situation thankfully. But they seem easy to use. Itās obviously more awkward than not wearing anything so keep that in mind. Do not wear them around your neck please! Ugg, the directions say to put it through the sleeves of your coat or outer layer.
So they are at your hands when needed and if you do go through the ice it doesnāt float away. Not to mention if you trip you are less likely to stab yourself in the neck! Another option I read that seems to work well if you donāt like the sleeves is through your belt loops. Itās secure, out of the way, but still within reach if needed.ā ā Cecily Templeton

4. Eskimo ā Ice Fishing Rod Lockers

Highlight: This Eskimo rod locker, a thoughtful gift for my boyfriend, proves practical and protective for delicate fishing gear, boasting ample compartments and a snow-friendly design, making it a must-have for dedicated ice fishers.
Helpful review: āI got this as a christmas present for my ice-fishing-loving boyfriend. He loves Eskimos products and Amazon has the cheapest price. Weāve used the rod locker this season and it works well to lug all of your stuff. The bottom is rubbery so you can drag it on the snow and it wonāt get wet. There are lots of compartments for gear or snacks. I like the size of it and itās not too heavy. It keeps delicate rods from getting smashed or damaged and helps keep things organized. I would recommend if youāre a big ice fisher.ā ā Maria Lopez

5. Eskimo ā Pistol Bit
Top-rated: 768 ratings | 39 answered questions

Highlight: The Eskimo Pistol Bit, combined with a drill, revolutionized my ice fishing with effortless cutting and reduced strain post-surgery, showcasing Eskimoās exceptional customer service and earning my highest recommendation.
Helpful review: āAfter some trial and error with drill motors (my Makitaās donāt have enough torque). I have had this unit on the ice for about 2 1/2 months now. It really cuts like a dream and is so much lighter to carry than my Eskimo propane auger. I had back surgery last September and lugging my previous auger was killer. It went from a 28 pound auger to a 6 pound auger by me (with drill motor) and that is a lifesaver. I did have an issue with the auger cutting best on a slight angle as opposed to straight up and down. One call to customer service and the problem was resolved immediately. Five more stars to Eskimo for their customer service! This thing is awesome and so much less expensive than an electric auger. Highly recommend!ā ā Phillip Agius
