I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that people have the audacity to begin their new year on a drunk and tired note. The New Year brings so many opportunities for us! It presents a fresh canvas to carve new stories and new good habits, learn new skills, start following smart skincare, and let go of bad habits and negativity. I strongly believe that you should start the new year with a positive and healthy mindset so you actually feel motivated to follow your New Year resolutions.
Imagine partying super hard, drinking like there’s no tomorrow, and then you begin the 1st morning of the year by throwing up! I just can’t with this hardcore drinking culture on New Year’s Eve. I know I may sound like an old-fashioned millennial or a boomer, but that’s me because I can’t keep up with this culture.
If you are also someone who thinks like me, and wants to explore other non-party related options for New Years Eve, I have a few suggestions that you could put to use! I am sure you are going to love these. These are not fancy ideas, but rather refreshing ones that can help you start the New Years on a refreshing note. These ideas include clearing up your home clutter, hosting a clean house party for your loved ones, using a face gel mask or face serum for glowing skin, going for a walk with your loved ones, and creating a vision board for 2024!
Are you ready for it?

1. Treat Yourself Like Royalty
I mean it! This may or may not have been your year, but you deserve all the self care and royal treatment of the world for getting through it. You kept your head high and swayed through the tough times. You made some bad decisions and owned up to it. You also made good choices and managed to restrict negative people from your life so yes, you deserve some Queen and King level selfcare.
Set up the ambiance! Order food and dessert (or you could make some), clean your bed, put on some soothing indie music, and light up a scented candle. You can put on a red wine-infused face gel mask and indulge in some anti-aging skincare.
You could use aromatherapy to add in more relaxing vibes; use eucalyptus, chamomile, lavender oils, and soothe your senses. Put cooled tea bags on closed eyes for relaxing your eyes. Wash off the gel mask after 20 minutes. I’m sure you are going to cherish these 20 minutes of pure, indulging self-care.

Why not? Wouldn’t that be a break from all the hard partying? Call your close friends for a get-together and just chill with them. Make some lemonade for them and open up your board games arsenal! It’s been a while since you played them, no? Conversations over coffee, cold drinks, pizzas, with loved ones, and a 2023 rewind, would be such a comforting way to end your end!
You guys can put on some feel-good movies or binge watch on some series, or plan trips together!
4. Go For A Walk With Loved Ones
‘Tis the season of lights and love❣️A walk around your neighborhood can feel so magical. Residual buildings, offices and malls are decorated with lights, street carnivals and sweet songs are playing in the background. Walks around such pretty places have the magic to bring out heart-to-heart conversations! You and your loved ones can reflect on the events of the past year, talk about your goals and dreams for the future. Make your walks more delicious by carrying Hot coffee or cold beverages to comfort your outing. Click some beautiful pictures with decorations and lighted city lights to preserve this end of the year moment. Walking with loved ones allows you to reconnect, appreciate the present moment, and usher in the New Year in a joyous and social manner. It’s a simple yet important exercise that highlights the value of loved ones during this particular time of year.
5. Create a Vision Board For 2024
I know this sounds cliché, but it’s worth taking out time for! Write down your goals and aspirations for 2024, and creatively represent them on your vision board. It’s wonderful how we humans jump at the glimpse of an opportunity and feel like using it to start working on new goals or restart unfinished projects. This exercise will make you feel excited to start your New Year! So definitely give yourself a chance and make your own vision board.
