Things to do in Austin This Weekend | Make Your Vacations Memorable

If you are in Texas, you really must visit Austin, one of the best cities in the US. It’s the kind of spot that’s perfect for a weekend getaway or a more extensive trip while touring Texas. Along with that, the city is filled with a tonne of the top things to do in Austin this weekend.

Those of you who have been to Texas before are already aware of its distinctive culture and identity. The state is sizable and not a couch potato. It took me about 10 hours to cross the state; I had no idea how huge it was until we started driving across. Huge is an understatement!

Since it is just about 100 miles from San Antonio, it is very easy to get there if you are driving and touring some of the major southern cities. You may also decide to take a trip to Houston.

I would not ramble. The top things to do in Austin are all waiting to be discovered, so you will have your hands full. Sunscreen should be brought. We explored this part of Texas while it was scorching.

1. Blanton Springs Pool:

Grab your sunscreen and beach blanket, then make your way to Zilker Park for a relaxing day. Nearby, you can find the lovely Barton Spring Pool, which is pleasant on a hot day. Additionally, it’s one of the best ways to cool off in Austin.

The freshwater pool, which is accessible for a nominal entrance fee and is fed by a local natural spring, is the ideal place to enjoy some of that renowned Texan sunshine.

In all honesty, you will appreciate this more if you postpone it after a few days of walking around and sightseeing.

2. Blanton Museums of Arts:

The University of Texas at Austin campus is home to one of the largest university art museums in the nation. For those who enjoy art, it really is one of the best things to do in Austin.

It is the perfect setting for releasing your inner culture vulture. As a result, if you are not a fan of the arts, you should skip this visit.

3. Lake Travis:

The 18,000 acres of Lake Travis are filled with intriguing outdoor activities. When you get there, you can book a room beside the lake if you want a change of scenery from the city.

If you want to spend some time outside of the city limits, it is one of the top things to do in Austin this weekend.

4. Hippie Hollow Park:

The words “Keep Austin Weird” may be seen on t-shirts and bumper stickers all across the city. Live the phrase by going to Hippie Hollow Park in Northwest Austin.

It is the only park in Texas where visitors are not required to wear clothing, and it is located on Lake Travis, so feel free to enjoy the weather while wearing your birthday suit. Of course, it’s not for everyone, but if you like it, it’s definitely something new.

5. Party Around 6th Street:

The neighbourhood is lined with bars, restaurants, and throngs of partygoers and is affectionately known as the “dirty 6th” (not sure why).

It buzzes with activity on the weekends.

However, to be fair, the experience is only as filthy as you make it! If you are not into wild partying on the 6th, there are plenty of fantastic cafes, boutiques, taco joints, and live events near me to enjoy.

One of the best things to do in Austin, day or night, is in an all-arounder type of place.
